iMARK Molding expanding in western Wisconsin

WOODVILLE, WI. Nov. 16, 2017 – iMARK Molding Inc., a plastic injection molding company serving customers nationwide, is expanding its operations in St. Croix County – a project expected to create 40 jobs.

The $18 million expansion will more than triple the size of the company’s existing 38,640-square-foot facility to meet current and future demand for its products. Construction is now underway and expected to be completed by the end of 2018.

“On behalf of the state of Wisconsin, I congratulate iMARK Molding on its expansion plans and thank the company for its continued commitment to our great state,” said Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, who joined company officials, and state and local leaders in a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday. “iMARK is the latest example of the many companies choosing to establish or expand operations in Wisconsin because of our strong business climate and dedicated workforce.”

“The result of this expansion will be a world-class molding facility that will solidify iMARK’s position as the leader in supporting Wisconsin’s biohealth industry and will help meet the needs of life science companies nationwide,” said company president and founder Mark Sturtevant. “The crown jewel of the expansion will be our 22,500-square-foot pharma-grade cleanroom that is designed for a future expansion of nearly 18,000 square feet.”

The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) is supporting the project by authorizing up to $350,000 in state income tax credits over the next four years. The actual amount of tax credits iMARK will receive is contingent upon the number of jobs created and the level of capital investment over that time.

Local officials applauded the company’s decision to expand in St. Croix County.

“Realizing that companies have many choices as to where they can invest, the Village of Woodville is excited that iMARK has decided to expand within our community,” said Woodville Village President Steve Gossel. “This project shows how a strong public/private team that thinks out ofbox can move a project forward. We look forward to reinforcing our strong working relationship with iMARK in the future.”

The expansion calls for adding about 32,000 square feet of production space, 28,000 square feet of warehouse and shipping space, and 20,000 square feet of office space. The project also includes renovating and adding new equipment to the existing facility.

Sturtevant said the company’s goal is to become compliant with ISO 18385, a new standard that minimizes the risk of human DNA contamination in products used to collect, store and analyze biological material for forensic and diagnostic purposes.

iMARK Molding was founded in 2000 by Sturtevant, who decided the plastic injection molding industry needed a company with a better approach and commitment to facilities, employees and customers. The company focuses on early involvement from customers and creating fully integrated solutions so that its products are designed without defects and will not fail when utilized in manufacturing processes.

A world-class supplier in the medical and diagnostics industries, iMARK has about 70 employees at its facility about 40 minutes from the Twin Cities.
