MILWAUKEE — As part of its 130th anniversary celebration, Horicon Bank will host “Together, Building Hope,” a complimentary breakfast gathering for church leadership, faith leaders, and community organizers on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 8:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Milwaukee County Zoo‘s Peck Welcome Center, 10001 W. Bluemound Rd., Milwaukee.

The inaugural event is an extension of the virtues that have guided Horicon Bank for 130 years — and an invitation to church leaders from across Wisconsin to explore what happens when faith and the marketplace meet – specifically what it means for families, businesses, and neighborhoods.

“For 130 years, Horicon Bank has been rooted in the belief that walking our faith means extending our virtues into the community — not just on Sunday, but in every interaction we have,” said Fred C. Schwertfeger, President of Horicon Bank. “This gathering is about bringing church leaders and community partners together around a shared conviction: that wise stewardship and intentional investment in people can lift entire communities. As we celebrate 130 years of Together, Doing Good, there’s no better way to mark this milestone than by gathering around that mission.”

Bishop Walter F. Harvey, an apostolic leader at The Embassy Center MKE and Executive Director of PRISM Economic Development Corporation, will deliver the keynote address, “Faith + the Marketplace.” Bishop Harvey, who also founded the WI+H Movement equipping churches to address community challenges through disciple-making and business as mission, will share actionable insights on the theology of place — how intentional investment in the communities where we live, work, and worship creates transformation that reaches far beyond the walls of any single institution.

The morning will also feature “Stewardship in Action,” a panel conversation with Alexandra Solanki, Strategic Financial Analyst at Horicon Bank; Chris Berens, Trust Officer at Horicon Bank; and Matt Bilitz, Development Executive, Education at Catalyst Construction. The panel will explore practical ways church and community leaders can unlock generosity, steward resources with lasting impact, and strengthen the financial foundation of their ministries.

A Chance to Continue the Work

In the spirit of Together, Doing Good, all pre-registered attendees will be entered to win a donation to their church’s community outreach (as a qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization) — one $1,000 contribution and two $500 contributions will be drawn live on May 20. Attendees must be present to win. No purchase, donation, or banking relationship required. Donations will be made directly by Horicon Bank to the designated 501(c)(3) organization.

RSVP by May 6 at horiconbank.com/hope. The event, including a complimentary breakfast, is free of charge. Space is limited.

Church leaders and Christian faith leaders from across Wisconsin are encouraged to save their seat and invite fellow ministry partners to attend.
