MILWAUKEE, WI (October 3, 2024)Potawatomi Casino Hotel is thrilled to announce the kickoff of the 30th Heart of Canal Street campaign to raise up children’s charities in southeast Wisconsin. In honor of 30 years of giving, 30 charities will be awarded as part of this year’s celebration on December 17,

Heart of Canal Street is Potawatomi Casino Hotel’s signature charity giving program that started at Potawatomi’s Bingo Hall 30 years ago. Since then the name has changed, the logo has been updated (new logo for media use attached), and nearly 350 children’s charities received donations totaling over $21 million dollars.

“This has been such an impactful contribution to not only our surrounding community, but to our own hearts here at Potawatomi,” says Dominic Ortiz, CEO & GM of Potawatomi Casino Hotel. “Our team members love taking part in this program every year and we’re so happy it’s been going on for thirty years.”

Heart of Canal Street’s funding comes from a Bingo game played at Potawatomi Casino Hotel’s Bingo sessions. The Canal Street Bingo Game can be purchased at any Bingo session and proceeds go towards the grand total amount of more than $500,000 that will be given away at the finale event.

Potawatomi Casino Hotel’s Cream City Coffee Co., 1100 Bar and Lounge, and Bar 360 will also be participating in the fundraising and will offer a “round up” option for guests to round up their total to donate to Heart of Canal Street.

Applications open for interested charities next week. Charities are encouraged to keep an eye out for the application that will be made available at paysbig.com/heart.
