Governor Walker Orders Flags to Half-Staff Honoring the Life of Milwaukee Police Department Officer Michael Michalski

"Our hearts go out to his family and the entire Milwaukee Police Department family."

MADISON – Governor Scott Walker today ordered flags of the United States and the State of Wisconsin to be flown at half-staff in honor of Milwaukee Police Department Officer Michael Michalski of the Special Investigations Division who died in the line of duty on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. This order is effective immediately and ends at sunset on the date of interment.

Governor Walker released the following statement:

Tonette and I mourn the death of Officer Michael Michalski who died in the line of duty while protecting the people he served for 20 years. His passing is another painful reminder of the absolute commitment and sacrifices our law enforcement officers make to protect our communities every day. Our hearts go out to his family and the entire Milwaukee Police Department family. His memory and dedication to our state will always be remembered.”
