To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers has approved a $18.1 million resurfacing and bridge replacement project along WIS 100 (Mayfair Road/Lovers Lane), from Burleigh Street to Silver Spring Drive, Milwaukee County. LaLonde Contractors Inc. is the prime contractor for the project. Construction is scheduled to begin the week of September 21.

- Construct new path under WIS 100 bridges to improve pedestrian safety

- Resurface WIS 100 (Mayfair Road/Lovers Lane) within project limits
- Update curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards

Traffic Impacts:
This project will be completed in two stages:
Stage 1: Bridge replacement (2026-2027)
- WIS 100 (Mayfair Road) will be impassable at the Menomonee River during bridge replacement work.
- The posted detour will utilize Burleigh Street, I-41, and WIS 190 (Capitol Drive)
- Note: Rehabilitation work on I-41, between Burleigh Street and Silver Spring Drive, has been completed and will not affect the posted detour.
Stage 2: Milling and paving (2027)
- Motorists can anticipate various lane closures during resurfacing work. The entire WIS 100 corridor between Burleigh Street and Silver Spring Drive will be resurfaced.
Local access will be maintained to businesses and residences.
Schedule:
Bridge replacement work will begin in late September 2026. This work is scheduled to take approximately one (1) year.
Milling and paving operations are scheduled to begin in spring 2027.
