Golf Second through 36 Holes at Boilermaker Invitational
The Golden Eagles are playing their final regular season event in West Lafayette
WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana – The Marquette University men’s golf team is second through 36 holes in the Boilermaker Invitational at Ackerman-Allen Golf Course on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles, who are 15-under par (278-275–553) trail tournament-host Purdue by four strokes entering Sunday’s final round of play.
Senior Patrick Adler is tied for the individual lead with Purdue’s Sam Easterbrook and Michigan State’s Caleb Bond at 7-under.Junior Johan Widal is tied for ninth at 4-under, while senior Max Lyons fired a 5-under 66 in the second round and is tied for 17th at 2-under for the day. Lyons had a team-best five birdies in a blemish-free second round.
Adler and Widal led the Golden Eagles in the opening round with 4-under 67s. Adler led MU through the first 18 with seven holes under par, including an eagle on the par-5 16th hole. Widal had five birdies offset by a bogey on the par-4 11th.
Ryan Banas and Will Hemauer are competing in the Boilermaker Invitational at Kampen Golf Course.
