Golden Eagles Continue Fall Campaign in DeKalb
The Golden Eagles Continued to Build Momentum Throughout Another Weekend of Fall Action
DEKALB, Ill. – The Marquette University men’s tennis team continued its fall campaign this weekend at the River Forest Invitational in DeKalb, Illinois.
The Golden Eagles collected two singles victories, with Even Solheim and Marcos Vazquez each earning wins. Solheim defeated Northern Illinois’ Suo Nan, 6-2, 7-6, while Vazquez secured a 6-3, 5-3 victory over Drake’s Adan Tarquino.
In the first singles draw, Remi St. Laurent fell to Western Michigan’s Anh Hoang La Pham, 6-2, 6-2. Hugh Perill competed in the fourth singles draw, falling to Drake’s Matias Fernandez, 6-3, 6-3.
Marquette also picked up a pair of doubles victories. St. Laurent and Solheim defeated Northern Illinois’ Constantin Radu and Ibragim Turgambekov, 6-2. While Perrill and Luke Coppage earned a win over Washington University’s Nathan Tam and Avi Mahajan, 6-4.
