Family needs assistance to help pay for 15- year-old daughter’s funeral
Alderman José G. Pérez is inviting residents to help the family of Brendaliz Morales Rodriguez, who died earlier this week after being shot accidentally by a sibling, according to the family.
Alderman José G. Pérez is inviting residents to help the family of Brendaliz Morales Rodriguez, who died earlier this week after being shot accidentally by a sibling, according to the family.
Brendaliz, 15, was a freshman at South Division High School. According to reports, an older sibling (who family members said is developmentally disabled) accidentally shot Brendaliz early on Tuesday, January 8 at the family home on W. Orchard St.
Alderman Pérez said the family is in need of financial assistance to help cover the costs of a funeral and of sending her body to Puerto Rico for burial.
