Alderman Scott Spiker is excited to share that resident efforts to promote beautification of the Garden District will continue with the Fall Plant Sale and Perennial Exchange, which is set to take place this Saturday, September 23 from 10 a.m. until noon. The event will occur at S. 6th Street and W. Norwich Avenue, one block south of Howard Avenue. The event is free and open to the public.

In addition to the perennial exchange, hand-grown mums and perennials will be for sale with prices ranging from $4-$12. All proceeds will benefit the community gardens. Other gardening related goodies can also be brought to exchange including bulbs, seeds, tools, and decorative items.

“The perennial exchange always serves as a fantastic opportunity for gardening experts and beginners to come together and connect over a shared passion that also helps beautify the neighborhood,” said Alderman Spiker. “I greatly appreciate the Garden District Neighborhood Association and their volunteers who put on this event biannually to support the community, and I would encourage those in the district and throughout the city to stop by the event this Saturday.”
