By - Oct 5th, 2022 10:21 am

Alderman Scott Spiker is excited to share that citizen efforts to promote beautification of the Garden District will continue with the Fall Perennial Exchange, which is set to take place this Saturday, October 8 from 10 a.m. until noon. The event will occur at S. 6th Street and W. Norwich Avenue, one block south of Howard Avenue. The event is free and open to the public.

The event will also include information from Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District about the revitalization of Wilson Park Creek. Residents will be able to see construction photos, enter to win plants, and learn more about the project. Finally, residents can learn more about the Save the Garden meeting held last week to help restore the flower gardens and parking lot blocks at 6th and Howard.

“The perennial exchange is an opportunity for gardening enthusiasts to come together and connect over a shared passion that also helps beautify the area,” said Alderman Spiker. “I greatly appreciate the Garden District Neighborhood Association and their volunteers who put on this event to make sure we live up to the Garden District’s name, and I would encourage those in the district and throughout the city to stop by the event this weekend.”
