Fabian Joins Marquette Volleyball Staff
Accomplished prep and collegiate coach joins the staff for the 2026 season.
MILWAUKEE — Marquette University head volleyball coach Tom Mendoza has announced the hiring of Kennedy Fabian as an assistant coach and director of operations.
“We are grateful to add a coach and person of Kennedy’s quality, and I am excited for the impact she will have on with our players and the program. Kennedy has been successful and respected everywhere she has coached, so we are eager to welcome her to Marquette. She also married an MU alum, so we know she can recruit well” Mendoza said of Fabian’s hiring.
Fabian most recently served as assistant girls program director at Milwaukee Sting Volleyball. In that role, she manages coaches and training for the girls program, serves as a master coach for the 17s division, helps establish offensive and defensive systems, and assists as a recruiting coordinator guiding 17s and 18s athletes through the recruiting process.
Previously, Fabian was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Wright State University from 2022-25. While at Wright State, she also served as offensive coordinator, worked with setters, and directed travel operations and planning.
Fabian spent the 2020-22 seasons as an assistant coach and offensive coordinator at Minnesota State University, Mankato, where her responsibilities included setter coaching, recruiting coordination and director of operations duties. She also gained Division I experience as a volunteer coach and marketing assistant at the University of Cincinnati from 2019-20, assisting with live statistical analysis to support in‑match strategy.
In addition to her collegiate experience, Fabian has held coaching roles at the prep and club levels, including assistant coach at White Bear Lake High School and as a coach at Kokoro Volleyball Club.
Fabian has coached multiple setters who received individual recognition, including three who earned Setter of the Year honors, and one ranked No. 1 nationally in assists per set in 2024. She was also named Minnesota Assistant Coach of the Year (4AAA) in 2018.
Fabian earned a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communication with a minor in Design from the University of Minnesota in 2018, where she participated in club volleyball. She previously attended Indiana University, competing as a varsity volleyball student-athlete.
