Experts available in Milwaukee to help with coverage of Democratic National Convention
MILWAUKEE _ The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has debuted a new website to help media members report on the Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee.The website includes story ideas and a list of UWM faculty or staff experts who can provide insight on a range of topics connected to the city, region and rest of the state. For instance:
- Joel Rast, an associate professor of political science and urban studies, can speak about Milwaukee’s historical ties to socialism and parallels to the type of socialism that’s a focal point of Bernie Sanders’ campaign.
- Kyle Reynolds, an associate professor of architecture, can discuss the design of the Fiserv Forum, the NBA arena that will house the convention, as well as the history of the cream-colored brick that distinguishes Milwaukee architecture.
The website will be updated regularly leading up to and during the July convention.
