Epic Joins Wisconsin LGBT Chamber as Newest Gold Member

MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce announced today that Epic has joined the organization as its newest gold member.

“We are thrilled to welcome Epic to the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber as our newest gold member,” said Jason Rae, President & CEO of the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce. “Epic has long been a business leader in Wisconsin and across the globe, showing how you can put people front and center in your mission. We look forward to building a long-lasting partnership that will support their employees and customers, as well as the community at large.”

“Our goal is to make Epic a place where staff of all identities and backgrounds are not only respected and safe, but can also thrive,” said Jesse McCormick, Diversity Lead at Epic. “As a queer woman of color, I’ve been privileged to find my place in Wisconsin and at Epic, but not all Wisconsin residents have that privilege. The LGBT Chamber continues to push for a more welcoming and inclusive business community in Wisconsin, and we’re proud to be a new member. This will give us the opportunity to learn, share what we’ve learned, and grow together with other businesses toward a Wisconsin that welcomes all.”

Founded in a basement in 1979 with 1½ employees, Epic develops software to help people get well, help people stay well, and help future generations be healthier. Headquartered in Verona, Epic has an active LGBTQIA+ Employee Resource Group which supports and welcomes LGBTQIA+ employees through resource-sharing, open and welcoming events, discussions, education for all employees, and projects that work to better the workplace for all LGBTQIA+ people. In addition, Epic encourages and promotes equitable opportunities for small businesses and sources many of their products locally. Their Supplier Diversity review group aims to connect with minority-, women-, LGBTQIA+-, disability-, and veteran-owned businesses, to source high quality products while participating in the growth of our communities.

Epic joins more than 40 other corporations as a gold member of the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber. Gold members receive a number of Chamber membership benefits, including a seat on the Chamber’s Leadership Advisory Council.

The Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce is an organization of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and LGBT-allied businesses, corporations and professionals throughout the state of Wisconsin. It offers networking opportunities, business development efforts within the LGBT community, and educational programming to its members. The organization has more than 650 members from around the state. In 2015, the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce received the National Chamber of the Year Award from the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC).
