Election Result & Next Steps – 10th District County Board Supervisor Race

MILWAUKEE, WI — First off, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to everyone who helped us get to the finish line! Thanks to your contributions, we stand in a 50-50 tie with double checks currently happening to verify the official vote total.

As I reflect on the past four days, I think about the scores of people who said they wouldn’t vote because elected officials failed to show up for them. The underwhelming voter turnout we have seen clearly reflects that but like I’ve said throughout this race, I’m committed to this fight for our district and its future.

This journey has been filled with long days and deep conversations leading residents to step out on faith and giving me, a young man of the next generation, a chance through their hope and their vote. With every aspect of this campaign, there were so many supporters who helped me collect signatures, connect with residents, make phone calls, send me encouraging messages and snacks, donate, and fuel our social media. To each and every one of you, thank you so much, and we couldn’t have gotten this far without your support.

The fact is that the votes have not been certified by the County. Until that is completed next week, the results of the election are not official. If the final count shows that the vote margin drops below 0.25%, a recount will occur. In this case, it could come down to just a couple of votes. For this reason, I am leaving all options open at this time. I would love to hear your thoughts in response to this information.
