DPW reminds public regarding placement of political signs in public right of way

By - Apr 1st, 2024 12:40 pm

DPW would like to remind the public of state and local laws governing the placement of political signs in the public right of way ahead of the Spring Election in Milwaukee happening Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

Political signs are prohibited on the public right of way. The public right of way extends from the sidewalk on one side of the street to the sidewalk on the other side of the street.

DPW supports candidates and citizens right to safely and legally campaign. All signs must be placed on private property with the permission of the owner or occupant and according to all other state and local statues and laws.

DPW workers will remove all signs found in the public right of way.
