David Crowley Slams MAGA Extremist Tom Tiffany for Voting in Congress to Stop AI Regulation and Fast Tracking the Building of Data Centers

County Executive David Crowley has made clear that communities will decide if they want a data center, and if they do, there will be strict guardrails that ensure not a single penny is passed on to Wisconsinites, whether that be higher electricity rates, infrastructure, or safeguarding the environment.

Meanwhile, MAGA extremist Congressman Tom Tiffany, who has spent nearly 20 years playing politician, has spent the last year in Congress ensuring that data centers can come in and steamroll our communities.

“When he had the chance to stand up for Wisconsin in Congress, MAGA extremist Tom Tiffany decided to stand with Donald Trump and the big tech companies who are now steamrolling our local communities, unchecked, with their data center construction,” said Democratic gubernatorial nominee David Crowley. “Congressman Tom Tiffany cast the deciding vote for a 10 year moratorium on AI regulation, and then voted to fast track the building of data centers with little state oversight—we know he’d sell us out as governor.

“Here’s the thing: Congressman Tiffany loves data centers, and he has the voting record that shows as governor, he would allow them to be built in every corner of our state with little oversight. He’s already given massive tax breaks to the big tech companies that build them and voted for a bill that would allow these AI enthusiasts to run wild in our state and he will force the burning of more coal instead of using clean and renewable energy.

“Congressman Tom Tiffany voted to strip Wisconsin of the power to protect ratepayers. Now he’s asking Wisconsinites to trust him with a power he already tried to kill. Just as he’s done over his nearly 20 year career as a politician, Tom Tiffany wants working class Wisconsinites to pay for his and his billionaire buddies’ lifestyle.”
