David Crowley Releases Statement on Twenty-Fifth Anniversary of the September 11th Attacks
MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Today, on the twenty-fifth anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks, David Crowley released the following statement:
“Today, we remember, we mourn, and we honor the men and women who lost their lives when tragedy struck our nation’s core twenty five years ago. Hate attacked the innocent: parents lost sons and daughters, kids lost mothers and fathers, neighbors lost friends, and the country was forever changed.
“We also saw unbelievable bravery and courage in the midst of chaos and horror. First responders answered the call and ran into danger, putting their lives on the line to save hundreds of others, and passengers leaped into action to prevent further tragedy.
“In the aftermath, our country was united. The resilience and strength we saw on that fateful day showed us all the power of community.
“But unity shouldn’t just be a reaction to tragedy. We should work toward a community, a state, and a country where unity is stronger than division.
“Wisconsin, we will never forget the terror that took place on September 11, 2001. Today more than ever, let’s re-commit to honoring those we lost and remind ourselves that love will always shine brighter than hate.”
