Cousins Subs Make It Better Foundation Awards $10,500 In Community Grants To Three Local Nonprofits

Organizations Look to Address Vital Needs of Health & Wellness, Hunger and Youth Education

MILWAUKEE (January 20, 2022) – Cousins Subs® announces three organizations as recipients of a combined $10,500 in grants through its Make It Better Foundation. Funding will help offset the cost of resources and programming that address the vital community needs of health and wellness, hunger and youth education.

“As a family-owned business, Cousins Subs is founded on its commitment to serve others and treat everyone as family,” said Justin McCoy, vice president of marketing at Cousins Subs. “Our Make It Better Foundation was born out of this commitment, and we are fortunate enough to be able to give back to the communities that have been by our side for the last 50 years.”

The three Make It Better Foundation grant recipients include:

Blessings in a Backpack – A $3,000 grant will help fund the organization’s efforts to provide weekly nutritious food for students in need at Townsend Elementary school in Milwaukee. Volunteers discretely pack food into these students’ backpacks every Friday after school to ensure they do not go hungry on the weekends.

Ebenezer Stone Ministries – A $5,000 grant will help fund new refrigerators and freezers at the organization’s new pantry space. With more than 250 volunteers, Ebenezer Stone Ministries works hard to provide food and clothing to their neighbors and community in Milwaukee.

Fondy Food Pantry – A $2,500 grant will help fund the organization’s Food for Thought program that provides weekend food for students in the Fond du Lac school district. The funds will specifically be used to purchase fresh fruits and shelf-stable milk, two items that are particularly expensive to provide in each bag.

Since the inception of the Make It Better Foundation in 2013, Cousins Subs has supported its local communities through monetary donations to nonprofits, education scholarships and food aid. To date, the foundation has donated nearly $750,000 to 131 benefiting nonprofit organizations.
