Courage MKE Announces New Appointments to its Board of Directors

Local nonprofit named Leslie Angove as Vice President and Ryan Bricks as Treasurer

Milwaukee, WI (July 11, 2018) – Courage MKE, a local LGBTQ+ nonprofit announced today that Ryan Bricks has been appointed the Board Treasurer and Leslie Angove has been appointed the Vice President. Angove previously served as the Board’s secretary.  Bricks is a CPA with 3 years of public audit experience and has previously worked with the local nonprofit, Community Shares of Greater Milwaukee.

“Courage MKE strives to support and strengthen the LGBTQ+ youth within our community,” said Executive Director of Courage MKE, Brad Schlaikowski, “Leslie and Ryan’s professional backgrounds and passionate commitment will add insightful perspectives to our Board. We couldn’t be more pleased with these appointments.”

The full Courage MKE Board is comprised of six members: President, Joey Balistreri; Vice President, Leslie Angove; Treasurer, Ryan Bricks; and Officers – Nick Schlaikowski, Meg Strobel, and Alec Sternig. The Board members’ diversity and experience help add new perspectives in areas relevant to the success of Courage MKE.

The nonprofit is seeking dedicated individuals who are passionate about making a difference and have the time needed to make direct impact within our community, to join its board as Secretary or Board of Director.  Interested candidates email info@couragemke.org for details.

For the past three years, Courage MKE has been benefiting LGBTQ+ youth in the Milwaukee area through scholarships, grant support, care packages. In 2018, Courage MKE will establish The Courage House, a home for area homeless LGBTQ+ youth to seek support. Courage MKE is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization.
