Collecting Cast Iron on International Sculpture Day at the Lynden Sculpture Garden
The garden opens at 10 am and we’ll be sweeping up the cake crumbs at 4 pm.

We celebrate International Sculpture Day this Saturday, April 27, with a cake in the shape of a Henry Moore sculpture by Debbie Pagel of Eat Cake!; The Large Whimsy, a pop-up sculpture by Gary John Gresl; drop-in art-making; Labyrinth Society of Lynden Sculpture Garden activities—and by collecting cast-off cast iron items.
Show Lynden’s 50 monumental sculptures and temporary installations some love on #isday by wandering the grounds. Make Moore Maquettes in an all-ages drop-in workshop with sculptor Jeff Boshart (12-4 pm). Join the Labyrinth Society and help artist-in-residence Jenna Knapp plant seeds (2-4 pm). And don’t forget to take a close look at Henry Moore’s Two-Piece Reclining Figure No. 9 (1967) before eating it (3 pm)!
We also invite you to drop off any unwanted cast iron items (old sinks, tubs, and radiators are perfect) in preparation for Lynden’s first Iron Pour on May 25. The organizers will be on hand during #isday to move these items to the collection point on the tennis court prior to breaking them up (a sight in itself).
