Milwaukee, WI – If you have ever wanted to know more about the art in Black Cat Alley and the artists behind it, you’ll have an opportunity to meet the artists on Thursday, July 18th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Back Room at Colectivo on Prospect Ave. The East Side BID is partnering with the Randall Frank Contemporary Art Collection to host this very special Social Club iteration of Coffee & Conversation in Black Cat Alley. The event is free, and all are welcome and encouraged to join for all or part of the time.

Black Cat Alley is Milwaukee’s original outdoor art gallery located in a private alley on the East Side between E Kenilworth Place and E Ivanhoe Place. It is the brainchild of Stacey Williams-Ng, a celebrated local mural artist and owner of Wallpapered City, and Tim Decker, a professor of animation at UWM’s Peck School of the Arts, in coordination with other artists, and sponsored by the East Side BID. It now contains 21 murals by 24 artists from Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Columbus and even Berlin. Today the Alley is one of Milwaukee’s favorite destinations and is one of the top ten most photographed places in the city.

The goal of the Social Club gatherings is to bring people together to enjoy the local arts. They are scheduled on a monthly basis throughout Wisconsin. Every visit is hosted by someone working in the arts industry with each venue having a 2-hour program for education, networking, and creative engagement. Social Club Gatherings are organized by Frank Juarez of Artdose Magazine.

“Social Club Gatherings are a labor of love and continues to grow and give. We are exposed daily to artists, artworks, exhibitions and art events via social media. Through collaborative efforts we can all share the love for Wisconsin Art. Artdose Magazine’s success is finding those audiences via print, website, e-newsletter, and social media to share all of the amazing things happening in our communities,” says Frank Juarez, Publisher of Artdose magazine.

“Frank Juarez is such an asset to the Wisconsin art scene, and to Black Cat Alley specifically. It will be worth coming to this event just to meet Frank! He’s not only one of our jurors, he’s a supporter in every possible sense as well,” said Stacey Williams-Ng.

Featured artists in attendance include: Ken Brown (We Are One), Emma Daisy Gertel (In Full Bloom), Brandon Minga (Catz Beer), David Najib Kasir (Fraction Mother, Subtract Children), Bigshot Robot (Heart on a Platter), and Tim Decker (Jazz Goat).
