City’s Boulevard System Being Vandalized
Public should report any suspicious activity on flower beds
The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works is requesting the public be aware of potential illegal activity throughout the city’s boulevard system. Tampering and vandalism of the irrigation system are occurring on signature flower beds which are located primarily at large intersections. In response, physical and electronic surveillance has been increased.
Be aware, personnel from DPW and its contractors perform work on these beds between the hours of 5 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
If the public witnesses work occurring outside these hours or activity that seems suspicious please contact 414-286-CITY (2489). The crimes began in late 2021 and it’s possible the bad actors are mimicking legitimate activity and may be even wearing professional gear. We prefer the public report any related activity they feel is suspicious.
