City of West Allis Announces Independence Day Plans Including Parade, Movie Screening, Concert, and Festival Foods Fireworks

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – JUNE 24, 2026 – WEST ALLIS, WIS – The City of West Allis has announced this year’s Independence Day celebrations from July 1 through July 4.

Wednesday, July 1, is the Feature on Becher with an outdoor screening of The Goonies in partnership with the West Allis-West Milwaukee Recreation & Community Services Department (WAWMRCS)and Station No. 06. The movie starts at 6:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets and chairs, as the movie will be set up on Becher Street between 68th and 69th Street.

Thursday, July 2 will feature the annual Independence Day Parade through downtown West Allis. This community tradition draws about 6,000 attendees each year. The parade will feature floats, marching bands, live performances, and vintage vehicles. The parade will start at 7 p.m. at 77th Street and Greenfield Avenue, continue east on Greenfield Avenue towards 70th Street, and end at Orchard Avenue in the City of West Allis.

The concert and Festival Foods Fireworks display are on Saturday, July 4, and will be held at the West Allis Athletic Complex at Nathan Hale High School, located at 11601 W. Lincoln Avenue. The schedule of events is as follows:

  • 5:30 p.m. – Parking at the West Allis Athletic Complex opens. $10 per car ($5 per handicap spot). All proceeds benefit the West Allis-West Milwaukee High School Booster Clubs.
  • 6:30 p.m. – Food truck service begins from –EZ Tiki, T. Best Kettlecorn, Firewise BBQ, Shorty’s Grilled Cheese, Pete’s Pops, and Fruity Fusions.
  • 7:30 p.m. – Concert from local group, Failure to Launch, a high-energy cover band playing pop, rock, hip hop, and country hits from the last 60 years.
  • 9:30 p.m. – An incredible fireworks display presented by Festival Foods.
