Citizen Leader Randy Jones Announces His Campaign for 7th District Alderman
“We're angry about our voices not being heard by the leaders who we elected to represent us.”
MILWAUKEE – Randy Jones has announced that he will seek the District 7 seat on the Milwaukee Common Council in the spring 2016 election.
“As a native and long-time resident of Milwaukee, I would be honored to serve the residents as Alderman for the 7th District,” Jones said. “I’m morally outraged. We’re angry. And I want to do something about it. I’ve had conversations with people of my district and the feeling is universal. Which is why I’m proud to be running to serve as the Alderman representing Milwaukee’s 7th District.
“We’re angry about our voices not being heard by the leaders who we elected to represent us. It’s not the vision of The 7th District to have decaying neighborhoods, with vacant, deteriorating, foreclosed homes, streets riddled with potholes, a plague of gun violence, and a lack of opportunities for employment where a shrinking number of people do really well, while a growing number barely get by. It’s my vision that the 7th District should be a where everybody who works hard has the chance to get ahead, where everybody has a fair shot, everybody does their fair share and everybody plays by the same set of rules.
“As Alderman for the 7th District, my goal will be to continue to the work and service as I’ve done as a community leader, fighting to keep neighborhoods safe, and to create employment and economic opportunities. I am committed to give the residents a real voice and representation in City Hall,” Jones promised,” because the residents know what they need.”
