Marcus Performing Arts Center is gearing up for the return of the Rainbow Summer series, featuring free or discounted outdoor entertainment from July through September. For the duration of the series, a perimeter of 30 concrete traffic barriers has been installed around the grounds along Water Street and Kilbourn and will remain until October. MPAC is currently seeking community artists to help breathe some life and color into the blank spaces, and evoke a theme or feeling of ‘Summer in Milwaukee’ or ‘Togetherness’ after not being able to gather for so long.

Application Period: Online entries open until July 15th at 11:59pm

Applicants Contacted: July 16th

Installation Period: Accepted submissions can be installed beginning July 17. All installations must be completed by July 28, 2021.

Eligibility: Wisconsin residents age 18 and older. Younger applicants are able to participate if a member of their team is 18 years or older. If applying as a team, please designate one main point person as a contact and submit one application together.

-At the time of your online application, please submit a 1-3 sentence description of the idea for your space.

-Each accepted applicant will be paid a $150 stipend and all artists will be featured on MPAC’s social media channels.

-A limited amount of paints and supplies will be available on-site to artists, but you may also bring your own supplies if you wish. Paint/spraypaint and other long-term mediums are suggested.
