Build-Your-Own Mini Golf Bar Nine Below Announces Grand Reopening

MILWAUKEE (September 21, 2021) – Nine Below, Milwaukee’s build-your-own mini golf bar, will be re-opening to the public with a refreshed brand and experience this fall. After an extended closure due to COVID-19, owners Marla and David Poytinger are thrilled to announce the facility’s Grand Re-Opening in November 2021.  

“We already reinvented mini-golf as you know it with the ‘build-your-own mini-golf’ concept. This past year gave an unexpected opportunity to take Nine Below to the next level with a fully refreshed design,” said David Poytinger. 

Nine Below’s refresh includes aesthetic updates, such as murals painted by local artists, immersive décor and lighting, a refreshed drink menu, interactive props, and more. The activity bar will now offer its signature build-your-own mini-golf rounds to kids ages 7 and older, as well as birthday party packages. 

Nine Below, fittingly named due to its underground location and 9-hole course setup, assigns guests to an empty putting green with access to a fully stocked obstacle garden to “forge their own course.” After teams have finished designing, they then rotate through the course playing their own (and other teams’) creative mini-golf holes. 

Although we’re the only build-your-own mini golf bar in the world, we wanted to make it even more unique and immersive than it already was,” said Poytinger. “If you walked down the stairs and were surprised by the energy and excitement before, just wait until you see it now.” 

Conceived by parent company Bars & Recreation, Nine Below is just one of the group’s many local activity bars, including AXE MKE and NorthSouth Club. Nine Below is currently open for private events and will re-open to the public in November. For more information visit ninebelowmke.com.
