Brewers Recognize USO Wisconsin Active Service Members, Monday, May 27, in Honor of Military Appreciation Day

Players on Active Roster Will Gift Active Service Members a Personalized, Autographed Jersey

MILWAUKEE – In honor of Military Appreciation Day, the Milwaukee Brewers will welcome USO Wisconsin on Monday, May 27, and honor 25 active service members in a special ceremony at American Family Field, before the Crew takes on the Chicago Cubs at 3:10 p.m.

The active service members will be welcomed on the field where they will be recognized for their service. As a special thank you, Brewers players will gift each service member a personalized and autographed Brewers jersey with the service member’s name and a player’s uniform number on the back.

Wisconsin Army National Guard veteran, Zakk Daniel, will perform the National Anthem and a joint color guard will include a representative from each of the military branches. Two ceremonial first pitches will be thrown out in honor of Memorial Day and Military Appreciation Day. Scott Beranich served in the Navy from 2003-2007 and re-enlisted in 2013 in the Navy Reserves. A second ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Mark Wayland, a Marine and Vietnam veteran. Wayland is also a retired S.W.A.T. officer and firefighter, and is the father-in-law to Brewers reliever, Trevor Megill.
