MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers have named infielder Mike Boeve as Minor League Player of the Month and right-handed pitcher Yujanyer Herrera as Minor League Pitcher of the Month for April.
He batted .553/.642/.632 (21-for-38) in 13 games with the Timber Rattlers before being promoted to the Shuckers on April 20. In 8 games in April at Biloxi, Boeve hit .323/.432/.613 with 6 extra-base hits (3 2b, 3 3b). Boeve posted multiple hits in 13 of his 21 games between the two levels, including 4 games with 3 hits.
Selected in the second round of the 2023 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Nebraska Omaha, Boeve led the Minor Leagues in batting average in April (.449) and ranked among leaders in on-base percentage (2nd, .556), hits (T4th, 31) and OPS (5th, 1.179).
