Brewers Announce 2026 Robin Yount Performance Awards
Andrew Fischer Named Minor League Player of the Year; Josh Knoth Earns Minor League Pitcher of the Year
MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers today announced their 2026 Robin Yount Performance Awards, naming first baseman/third baseman Andrew Fischer as Minor League Player of the Year and right-handed pitcher Josh Knoth (KNOW-th) as Minor League Pitcher of the Year.
Outfielder Ricki Moneys was named the organization’s Complex League Player of the Year and left-handed pitcher Alexander Mercedes was named Complex League Pitcher of the Year. The Robin Yount Performance Awards are presented annually to recognize the top performers in the Brewers Minor League system.
Fischer, 22, batted .273/.413/.654 (120-for-439) with 17 doubles, 3 triples, 48 HR, 114 RBI and 107 runs in 126 games between Class-A Wisconsin (54g) and Double-A Biloxi (72g).
Ranked as Milwaukee’s No. 5 prospect by MLB Pipeline, Fischer’s 48 HR rank second all-time in a single season by a Brewers Minor League player, trailing only Gorman Thomas (51 with Triple-A Sacramento in 1974). His 48 HR were the most by any Minor League player since Ron Kittle hit 50 for Triple-A Edmonton in 1982.
Fischer began the season with Wisconsin, where he batted .298/.443/.675 (57-for-191) with 20 HR and 50 RBI in 54 games before being promoted to Biloxi on June 16. He was named a Southern League All-Star at third base after batting .254/.389/.637 with 28 HR and 64 RBI in 72 games with the Shuckers. In 5 postseason games with Biloxi, Fischer batted .286 (6-for-21) with 2 HR and 7 RBI.
Fischer led the organization in HR, RBI, SLG, OPS (1.067), extra-base hits (68), total bases (287) and runs while ranking second in walks (102) and fifth in hits. He was selected by Milwaukee in the first round (20th overall) of the 2025 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Tennessee.
Knoth, 21, returned to the mound after missing the 2025 season following Tommy John surgery to go 6-3 with a 4.11 ERA (87.2ip, 40er) and 87 strikeouts in 22 appearances (20 starts) between the Rookie ACL Brewers (3gs), Class-A Wisconsin (16g, 14gs) and Double-A Biloxi (3gs).
Knoth made 3 starts on rehab assignment with the Rookie ACL Brewers before joining Wisconsin on May 21. He went 5-3 with a 4.33 ERA (68.2ip, 33er) and 66 strikeouts in 16 appearances (14 starts) for the Timber Rattlers before being promoted to Biloxi on August 27.
Knoth posted a 2.77 ERA (13ip, 4er), 13 strikeouts, a 1.08 WHIP and a .191 opponent batting average (9-for-47) in 3 starts for the Shuckers. He started Game 1 of the Southern League Championship Series for Biloxi and allowed just 2 runs on 5 hits with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts over 6.0 innings against Rocket City.
The Brewers selected Knoth in Competitive Balance Round A (33rd overall) of the 2023 First-Year Player Draft out of Patchogue-Medford HS (NY).
Moneys, who turns 18 on October 9, batted .289/.440/.479 (55-for-190) with 11 doubles, 5 triples, 5 HR, 43 RBI, 50 runs and 28 SB in 53 games to help Rookie DSL Brewers Gold win the Dominican Summer League Central Division title. He led DSL Brewers Gold in RBI, SLG, OPS (.919), hits, triples, walks (46), extra-base hits (21), total bases (91), runs and SB while tying for the team lead in doubles.
Mercedes, 17, struck out 45 batters in 34.1 innings over 11 appearances (7 starts) for Rookie DSL Brewers Blue. He went 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA (14ip, 3er) and 16 strikeouts over 3 outings (2 starts) in August, posting a 0.79 WHIP and a .146 (7-for-48) opponent batting average.
