Brew City Match Applications Open 11/17/23

Milwaukee area entrepreneurial engine opens applications for their network of support

By - Nov 15th, 2023 04:27 pm

Milwaukee, WI: Brew City Match (BCM), a local program that matches entrepreneurs with scholarships to business coaching, and if eligible, funding to build out or improve their brick-and-mortar businesses, is excited to announce that the next round of entrepreneurs can apply starting November 17th. Accepted businesses will gain access to Brew City Match’s ecosystem of support that includes business planning, property design and build out, marketing guidance, and growth strategy.

BCM entrepreneurs are small area building owners and businesses looking to stimulate commerce in key districts and surrounding neighborhoods, including Cesar Chavez Drive, Historic King Drive, Historic Mitchell Street, Near West Side, Silver City, North Avenue/Fond du Lac and Riverworks communities. With multimillion dollar injections made by JP Morgan Chase and the Wisconsin Department of Administration, Brew City Match trains entrepreneurs and leaves them with tools to succeed, not solely funding them with grants. Athena Agoudemos, Director of UW Milwaukee’s Small Business Development Center, asserts, “We support businesses at every stage of the life cycle, from ‘I’m thinking of starting a business, where do I go from there?’ to ‘I’m looking to expand, purchase a building, operate the business, even purchase an existing business.”

Resources include:

  • One-on-one entrepreneurial coaching
  • Property acquisition and transformation
  • Design and architectural assistance
  • Compiling equipment and inventory
  • Financial projections and operating costs
  • Marketing and advertising direction
