Milwaukee, WI (July 23, 2018) – The Brady Street Business Improvement District (BID #11) will host the Brady Street Festival Saturday, July 28, 11 a.m. – midnight. The Festival takes place on Brady Street from Van Buren to Farwell Avenue. This year’s musical line up will feature local and regional acts on four stages and cuts across many genres providing an awesome experience for everyone. In between acts there is great grub and vendors to visit — all locally grown, cooked, designed, sewn, painted, printed and poured.

Headlining

This year’s headliners are a mix of Brady St. favorites like the annual Drag Show, Cream City Queens and Milwaukee’s best local bands. Nwa Na Agbe will headline the Center Locals Stage sponsored by Gruber Law Offices, bringing the primal force of Afrobeat music fused with traditional African rhythms, soul, funk, and jazz. The unique sounds at the intersection of folk, rock & Americana of Wild Skies headlines the Glorioso’s stage sponsored by the Wisconsin Dairy Farmers. On the Absolut Stage presented by 88Nine Radio Milwaukee, catch the tropidelic sounds of Plaid Hawaii.

Early Day

Start the morning off right! At 11:30 a.m. on the west end of Brady join CJ doing Zumba at the Jameson Main Stage or find your zen with Yoga by Meg from Yoga One on the east end at the Absolut Stage.

Afternoon

Whether you’re cruising with your friends looking for a mimosa, or strolling with the kids, there is a lot to do! Ballet Folklórico Nacional de Milwaukee and Faux Fiction will be playing on the Jameson Main Stage; Conservatory of Music and Spill Tippin will be playing on the Locals Stage sponsored by Gruber Law Offices. Boxkar and Elle Casazza will be playing on the Absolut Stage with 88Nine Radio Milwaukee. Looking for something more interactive? The Glorioso’s cheese curd eating competition is back by popular demand along with our artisan cheese fest tent!   Sample cheeses from all of your favorite cheese makers like Carr Valley, Sartori, Bel Gioisio, Deer Creek, Clock Shadow Creamery and more.  Also our Division BMX Stunt team is always a thrill as is the Adventure Rock Wall presented by Community Financial Service Center.

Late Afternoon

Things start to heat up into the afternoon with lots of music. The mélange of music includes our fav vagabond musician Carrine, a lyrical wordsmith, vocalist, guitarist, and composer; rapper Queen Tut; the sounds of heavy psych rock band Calliope, the eerie musical force, Fox Face; and Bo and Ario brings it with a stripped-down set of bass guitar and drums in combination with hard-hitting rap vocals. There’ll also be the unapologetic rock-n-roll of Wire and Nail; the amazing all-female rock band Slimabean. Just don’t forget to check out the Casablanca Rumble Pro Wrestling ring as well.

Sunset

Working into the evening and late night the music and activities continue to roll with the alt-rock four-piece Queen Hilma. DJ Shawna will bring high-energy mixes that keeps crowds engaged and begging for more. The November Criminals are a can’t miss considering they proudly hold the title of the world’s only non-ironic Polka Hip Hop band. You will do more than tap your toes with Nile. Luke Winslow-King will be mixing up his country, blues, R&B, rock-n- roll, and folk influences intuitively and masterfully. Dead Fortune will combine their musical interests to bring to you an uncommonly smooth mixture of soulful blues and grooving rock and roll.

The Brady Street Festival is sponsored by Bud Light, Sierra Nevada, Bell’s Brewery, Good City Brewing, Lagunitas, Absolut, Jameson, Wisconsin Dairy Farmers, Gruber Law, Community Financial Service Center, Eagle Disposal, Jimmy John’s, and Ogden & Co., with support from official media partners 88Nine Radio Milwaukee and OnMilwaukee.
