Bars & Recreation proudly announces The New Fashioned as Milwaukee’s first venue to feature HyperBowling

Milwaukee, WI – (February 29, 2024) – Bars & Recreation, Southeastern Wisconsin’s premier provider of immersive experiences, social events, and team building activities, announced its newest venue, The New Fashioned, will be the first in Milwaukee to feature HyperBowling by QubicaAMF.

HyperBowling is a revolutionary new bowling-based attraction that combines the fun and excitement of bowling with video game-like technology, creating an action-packed and unique way to bowl – where gutterballs are a thing of the past and points multiply as players aim for moving targets created by lights on the bumpers.

The bowling games are designed around a bumper system integrated into the gameplay. Lights on the bumpers create moving targets players aim to hit or avoid with each game featuring its own unique set of challenges and levels. Colorful targets on the bumpers have different multiplier values and each pin knocked down is worth 100 points.

“Our new venue is all about serving up classic Milwaukee traditions with a twist,” said Bars & Rec CEO Marla Poytinger. “This isn’t just bowling, it’s New Fashioned bowling.”

HyperBowling levels the playing field, making it accessible and enjoyable for everyone from skilled bowlers to novices. The game blends software, mechanical design, electronics, lights, and sensors to deliver a next-level bowling experience.

Jim Krogsund, product manager of capital equipment at QubicaAMF, highlighted the social and enjoyable nature of bowling, stating, “Tenpin bowling is the world’s most popular participatory sport because it is social and fun.” He emphasized that HyperBowling, the recipient of the 2018 IAAPA Brass Ring Award for Best New Product, “provides a great platform that everyone can enjoy.”
