Annual “Phobruary” In Silver City

Phobruary, the best time of the year, is here! Phobruary takes place in Silver City every February, it is a great time to experience a signature Vietnamese Pho Bowl. Silver City is home to many hidden gems in the city such as the Asian International Market, Bamboo, Thai Bar-B-Que, Vientiane Noodle Shop and more. The community is strongly encouraged to support small local restaurants throughout the year but especially during this time of uncertainty.

So, what is Pho? It’s a soup native to Vietnam, common in Laos and Thailand, which delivers a complex combination of flavors that dance on the tongue’s taste buds. It combines noodles with a choice of thinly-sliced beef, chicken, vegetables or shrimp, and also offers a multitude of garnishes and fresh herbs to tailor the soup to individual preferences. These typically include Thai Basil, sprouts, cilantro, limes, jalapeño, sauces, peppers, and other items. This delicious combination of flavors will satisfy your hunger by the time you get to the bottom of the bowl.

This year Phobruary participants include two authentic international restaurants, Thai Bar-B-Que and Vientiane Noodle Shop. Both of these restaurants will be offering specials throughout the month of February. Vientiane will be offering $5 Pho Bowls available all day throughout the month of February (dine-in only, no carry-out). Thai Bar-B-Que specials include $5.99 Pho Bowls and $1.00 Crab Rangoons available from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. throughout the month of February (dine-in and carry-out).

There are many ways to support Thai Bar-B-Que & Vientiane Noodle Shop. Guests are encouraged to dine-in, order takeout, purchase gift cards and or leave a kind review on their social media platforms. Remember to be kind, patient and to tip accordingly. Face masks are required when you are not at your table.

Starting Monday, February 1st and throughout the month of February, VIA CDC will be hosting a weekly Phoburay giveaway.
