MADISON, Wis. – Attorney General Josh Kaul is encouraging everyone to wear jeans on Denim Day, April 29, as a symbol of solidarity and support for survivors of rape and sexual assault.

“Sexual violence can have lasting effects on survivors and their families, friends, and communities,” said Attorney General Kaul. “The Wisconsin Department of Justice is committed to working to prevent sexual assault. Prosecuting offenders who commit sexual assault is critical to keeping our communities safe.”

The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) supports victims of sexual assault through the Office of Crime Victim Services (OCVS). OCVS specializes in assisting victims of crime with information, referrals, and questions regarding their crime victim and witness rights.

The office also trains victim service providers, law enforcement, prosecutors, and other criminal justice professionals and works to expand resources for survivors across the state.
