Admirals Dropped by Hogs in Pre-Season Action
Ads Begin Regular Season Next Saturday in Rockford
MILWAUKEE, WI—John Farinacci and John Prokop scored goals for the Admirals, but they fall 3-2 to the Rockford IceHogs in pre-season action on Saturday night at Panther Arena.
The Admirals grabbed an early 1-0 lead at 6:10 of the opening period on a shorthanded tally by Farinacci, who got the rebound of his own shot and punched it past Rockford goalie Stanislav Berezhnoy.
The IceHogs Tommy Budnick tied the score at one midway through the second period, but the Ads John Prokop put the Ads back on top with 3:02 to go in the sandwich frame. Aiden Fink circled the Rockford net and fed it to the Wausau native, who ripped a one-timer into the Hogs net.
However, Rockford scored the next two goals to grab a 3-2 advantage. Jamie Engelbert leveled the score at two with 48 seconds left in the second and Ashton Cumby gave them the lead at the 3:11 mark of the third.
The Admirals will travel to Rockford on Monday for their pre-season finale before visiting the IceHogs On October 3rd to begin the regular season. The team’s home opener is set for Saturday, October 10th at 6 pm against the Grand Rapids Griffins at Panther Arena.
