Milwaukee, Wis. – The Better Business Bureau and BBB Wise Giving Alliance are participating in International Charity Fraud Awareness Week (October 19-23) which is coalition of both government regulators and charities seeking to raise charity fraud awareness.

Advisories have been developed for both charities as well as donors and centers on three themes:

(1) Be fraud aware about potential scams directed at charities and questionable appeals received by donors,

(2) Take time to check. Charities should verify vendors before sharing information and donors should visit Give.org to find out more about a charity before they contribute, and

(3) Keep data safe in terms of privacy policies and cybersecurity measures.
