The Kids From Wisconsin revue is produced in collaboration with some of this country's best writers, arrangers, and choreographers. Costumes are designed and created in Broadway style, adding to the already exciting performance. Performing a broad repertoire of music that includes the American favorites, big band, 50's- 80's classics, Motown, country, Broadway and current top hits, filling a two hour fully staged Broadway style performance.

Here, in that most nerve-wracking and vulnerable of spaces, they tell the stories of the trials, heartaches, and joys of dedicating their lives to art. Wisconsin folksinger and songsmith David HB Drake presents the music of Great Lakes and saltwater sailors in “A Sailor’s Songbag”. He plays the music and tells stories of the seven seas and dockside pubs performing on guitar, concertina, and handmade banjo, dulcimer, and Native American flute. David has been the resident musician for the Wisconsin’s flagship, the three masted schooner “Denis Sullivan” and has served as shantyman, interpreter, and performer aboard tall ships on the Atlantic, Pacific, and Great Lakes.

On Saturday, August 6 , from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., a free wellness workshop titled “Guideposts of Faith in Times of Stress” will be sponsored by the School Sisters of St. Francis on their campus, St. Joseph Center, 1501 S. Layton Blvd. (27th St. at Greenfield Ave.), Milwaukee. Because living a balanced life can sometimes be challenging, having excellent resources for physical, psychological and spiritual wholeness is invaluable for people of faith. Presenter Marcia Isherwood, RN, will provide tips on dealing with a disquieted heart. As Gesu Parish nurse and representative of the Wisconsin Women’s Health Foundation, her healthcare training and faith make her ideal to speak about leaning on God as well as knowing when to reach out for medical assistance. Mental health is just as important as physical health, and nurturing a faith life has been documented to yield positive effects on overall well-being.
