A concert reading of the play by Jan Maher and Nikki Nojima Louis with music, celebrating a century of the Women’s Peace Movement around the world, told through the voices of peace activists from World War I to the present, and performed by a diverse local student and professional cast. Approximately 2 hours, with intermission and talkback with author Jan Maher and UWM Humanist Merry Weisner-Hanks.

This year UEC and the Great Waters Group of the Sierra Club will be sponsoring a contest for people of all ages to artistically answer the question: “What is your favorite local green space or park, and why?” We encourage all people in the Milwaukee area to answer this question in words, artwork, video, song or dance. Prizes will be given out to all age groups (12 and under, 13-17, and 18+), with the winners announced at the Earth Day celebration on April 23 at UEC’s Washington Park branch. Entrants will display their work in the auditorium and winners are asked to perform or exhibit their work onstage. Rules and other information on the website.
