This lecture explores the archaeology of Anglo-Saxon England from the 5th to the 10th centuries CE. It examines the end of Roman Britain and the nature of the 5th and 6th century Early Anglo-Saxon settlements. It then explores the re-birth of urbanism in the late 7th century and the formation of the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms between the 7th and the 10th centuries.
