Kohl’s Haitian Gallery Virtual Performance: Jam Ak Jam

February 27, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 1:15 pm

Free
Kohl's Community Free Day

Join the Milwaukee Art Museum and special guests in celebrating the vibrant art and culture of Haiti. The Kohl’s Haitian Gallery, located on the mezzanine level of the Milwaukee Art Museum, is home to one of the largest collections of Haitian art outside of Haiti. In years past, the gallery has served as a stage for local artists to share the music, dance, and storytelling of Haiti and the African Diaspora during Black History Month. This February, the Museum will premiere videos of local performers featuring the backdrop of the Museum as their stage. In addition, Lakou Mizik, a powerhouse collective of performers from Haiti, will share a video of their positive messages and roots revival music.
Every Saturday in February, visitors can enjoy videos of special performances at 1 p.m.
February 27: Jam Ak Jam
Experience African drumming and dance.
All performances are available for free on the Museum’s website at mam.org/haitian-gallery, as well as on the Museum’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
