This weekend, step into a larger-than-life world of butterflies, beetles, caterpillars, and more at the Milwaukee County Zoo’s Powerful Pollinators exhibit. These tiny creatures make a huge impact … and now they’re impossible to miss!

Composer/flutist/vocalist Nathalie Joachim will perform her piece Ki moun ou ye, which explores her Haitian heritage. Also on the program Marcos Balter’s we carry our homes within us which enables us to fly, inti figgis-vizueta’s Form the Fabric and Paul Wiancko’s thous&ths. The concert is a partnership with the museum exhibit Gertrude Abercrombie; Jazz; Chicago; Gentrification in Hyde Park, and the museum’s Haitian art holdings.

Concert by the Masters

Simone Dinnerstein, semifinal jury member internationally known for performances of Bach, will perform a Bach concerto with a string quartet from the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Michael Mizrahi, a PianoArts preliminary jury member and pianist with Present Music, will perform selections from his latest album, Dreamspace. Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, 1584 N. Prospect Ave., Milwaukee,  June 1 at 7:30 p.m.

A Grand Finale

The 2026 North American Competition reaches its exciting culmination on June 2! Three pianists will advance as finalists, taking the stage with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and Maestro William Eddins to perform a concerto.
Monday, June 2

4:30 pm: Pre-concert interviews, discussions of the concertos, and the popular recital, Piano Promenades

7:30 pm: The final performance of concertos and the beginning of careers in music

9:30 pm: Awards and champagne
