Danceworks Presents Get It Out There Youth Selected Artists and MkeMe Crew & Special Guests in a Pay-What-You-Can Performance at Milwaukee Youth Arts Center
MILWAUKEE, WI — September 19th, 2026 — Milwaukee’s next generation of dance artists will take center stage next weekend as Danceworks presents a special one-night-only concert celebrating young choreographers, emerging dancers, and one Milwaukee K-pop crew on its way to the international stage.
The performance will take place at 7 p.m. at Milwaukee Youth Arts Center, 325 W. Walnut Street, and will feature two distinct acts showcasing the creativity and talent of Milwaukee’s young dance community. Tickets are available on a pay-what-you-can basis, making the performance accessible to audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
Act I: Get It Out There Youth Selected Artists will feature nine young dancers and choreographers, each presenting their own original choreography. The Get It Out There program provides emerging artists with an opportunity to develop their choreographic voices and bring their ideas from the studio to the stage. The evening will showcase the individuality, creativity, and wide range of perspectives of Milwaukee’s young dance artists.
Act II: MkeMe Crew & Special Guests will close the concert with an exciting celebration of Milwaukee’s K-Pop dance community—and a send-off for MkeMe Crew, who are preparing to represent Milwaukee in Seoul, South Korea.
MkeMe Crew is the first K-Pop cover dance team from Milwaukee to be invited to compete in Seoul. Earlier this year, the crew participated in a national online dance competition hosted by ArtlabJ and won first place in the semifinal round, earning a spot in the final round at the 15th Annual Hey Gangnam Festival in Seoul, South Korea.
For some members of MkeMe Crew, the trip will be their first time traveling to South Korea. The crew is embracing the opportunity together, bringing its own Milwaukee style and creative energy to the international competition. In addition to K-Pop, the members incorporate styles including contemporary, Jersey Club, and vogue into their original choreography.
MkeMe Crew members participating in the Seoul competition include Alex Vanissaveth, Regina Stieber, Ashlyn Erpenbach, Tori Montinola, Enesa Alka, and Tia Budyak.
The evening will bring together dancers and audiences to celebrate what happens when artists are given the opportunity to create, perform, collaborate, and dream bigger. Following the performance, audiences are invited to stay for a Random Play Dance opportunity, bake sale, and fundraiser in support of MkeMe Crew’s journey to South Korea. A Random Play Dance is a fun, high-energy K-Pop dance activity where participants jump in and dance along to randomly selected snippets of popular K-Pop songs, showing off their moves and dancing with others.
Danceworks is grateful to the Greater Milwaukee Foundation for its support of the organization’s DanceLAB series, which creates opportunities for emerging and established dance artists to experiment, develop new work, and share their creativity with Milwaukee audiences.
“We’re excited to celebrate Milwaukee’s young dance artists while also cheering on MkeMe Crew as they take this incredible next step,” said Danceworks Executive Director Julieane Cook. “This concert is a great example of how Danceworks lives out its mission and what can happen when emerging artists have a space to share their own ideas, take creative risks, and be supported by their community.”
