Near West Side Week Offers a Little Something for Everyone

The 2026 Near West Side Week kicks off on Sunday, September 13, and we are looking forward to the full slate of events and activities (think music, food, resources and fun!) that celebrate the Near West Side and offer a glimpse into the many great features the NWS has to offer.
This is the 6th year that Near West Side Week is being organized by Near West Side Partners, Inc., and there is genuinely something of interest for everyone.
Everything kicks off on Sunday (Sept. 13) with The New State Block Party at New State Pocket Park, 2612 W. State St., from 12 pm – 4 pm. There will be art, live music, poetry, and youth theater performances.
On Monday, Sept. 14, musicians from the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra will perform at An Evening of Music at the Uplifting Mansion, 3121 W. Wisconsin Ave. Doors open at 5:30 pm with a performance set to begin at 6 pm.
New this year to the event line-up is Near West Side Dining Day on Thursday, Sept. 17. Restaurants throughout the neighborhood will offer special features, discounts, and positive NWS vibes. We strongly encourage community members to stop down and check out the many delicious food and beverage options the neighborhood has to offer.
The NWS has become a thriving center for small businesses, for diverse job and economic opportunities, for critical stakeholders and supporters (big and small), and for health/wellness resources for residents. We hope you’ll take this opportunity to stop down to see what the energy and excitement is all about!
