New York Tech Firm Opens Second HQ in Milwaukee
CEO is from Shorewood, planning big growth.

A New York-based retirement planning company has opened a second headquarters in Milwaukee, adding another technology-oriented tenant to the Eagleknit Innovation Hub in Walker’s Point.
Retirable, founded in 2019, announced Thursday that its Milwaukee office is now open and will initially house approximately 10 employees. The company said it plans to hire more employees as it builds Milwaukee into a second operating hub alongside its New York City headquarters.
The company provides retirement planning, investment management and income planning services, pairing clients with financial advisors while also using automated technology.
Retirable’s Milwaukee expansion comes with a hometown connection. Co-founder and CEO Tyler End grew up in Shorewood and attended the UW-Milwaukee before launching the company in New York in 2019.
“As more and more Americans are turning to Retirable for personalized retirement guidance, we’ve reached a point where establishing a presence beyond New York makes sense,” said End in a statement. “Milwaukee offers an incredible combination of financial services expertise, exceptional talent, and a rapidly developing tech community.”
“On a personal level, it’s also where I grew up, so having the opportunity to build part of Retirable’s future here makes this especially meaningful,” he said.
The company said its number of clients in Milwaukee increased 25% during the past year, while its Midwest client base grew 44%. Retirable said its assets under management increased 110% during the same period and its workforce grew 25%.
The Milwaukee office will primarily serve Retirable’s operations and finance teams and will include a mix of locally hired employees and workers relocating from its New York operation.
Retirable is leasing space from Wangard Partners at the tech hub, 507 S. 2nd St.
“Having a leading fintech company like Retirable establish its second headquarters in Milwaukee is a strong vote of confidence in our city’s talent and momentum we’re seeing across our technology and financial services communities,” said Department of City Development Commissioner Lafayette Crump.
The move adds Retirable to a growing collection of businesses and organizations at Eagleknit and places it within Milwaukee’s recently designated “innovation district,” which is centered on Walker’s Point and extends into portions of the Harbor District, Walker Square and Menomonee Valley.
Wangard redeveloped the former Eagleknit Knitting Mills factory as a technology-focused office complex. The four-story building was constructed in 1928 and originally contained approximately 107,000 square feet. A $30 million redevelopment was completed in 2021. The project included a 30,000-square-foot glass addition designed by Gensler and constructed by Findorff.
National contract furniture dealer Henricksen became one of Eagleknit’s largest tenants earlier this year when it relocated its Milwaukee-area operation from Brookfield. The company opened a 14,500-square-foot office and showroom on the building’s fourth floor for approximately 25 employees.
Other Eagleknit tenants include workforce training nonprofit i.c.stars, Dan Beyer Architects, Tredo Group, REYN Engineering, Forward Community Investments, SRH and Islands of Brilliance.
Retirable was founded by End and Ian Yamey. The privately held company says it has helped thousands of clients develop retirement plans and is backed by investors including Nationwide, Western & Southern Financial Group and Primary Venture Partners. As of 2025, it had raised more than $25 million.
The business is initially operating from the coworking space located in the building.
