DearMKE to Premiere Four New Films at Milwaukee Film Festival on Thursday, October 9th

DearMKE will premiere four new films in a spotlight presentation on the closing night of the 2014 Milwaukee Film Festival at 5:30 PM on Thursday, Oct. 9 at the Oriental Theatre.

MILWAUKEE— (October 7, 2014) –   DearMKE, the innovative film series launched in 2012 which tells the Milwaukee story through unique perspectives, will premiere four new films in a spotlight presentation on the closing night of the 2014 Milwaukee Film Festival at 5:30 PM  on Thursday, Oct. 9 at the Oriental Theatre. The four films – BUILDMOTO (Matt Mixon, director), COOKING WITH KUMAR (Frankie Latina, director), LO WITH THE FRO (Jessica Farrell, director), and TOUR DE SPACE (Blyth Meier, director) – tell stories of urban youth building motorcycles, the city’s culinary scene, Marquette University student life and Milwaukee architecture.

“We are pleased to be a part of the Milwaukee Film Festival, both as a sponsor of the festival and to premiere our latest DearMKE films among the many phenomenal films shown during this festival,” said Paul Upchurch, president and CEO of Visit Milwaukee. “These films are just another way to show off the tremendous love we have for the city, while sharing some of the incredible stories there are to tell.”

All of the videos in this series have been locally filmed, produced and directed, making DearMKE truly a love letter from Milwaukee to Milwaukee. With the debut of these films, there will be a total of 14 films in the series, each showcasing a unique Milwaukee story.
