WLAX Earns No. 4 Seed in 2026 BIG EAST Tournament

NEW YORK – The bracket for the 2026 BIG EAST Women’s Lacrosse Championship presented by JEEP was finalized Saturday afternoon, with Marquette earning the No. 4 seed in the four-team field.

The Golden Eagles (9-6, 3-3 BIG EAST) secured a postseason berth for the first time since 2023 and will face top-seeded Denver in the semifinal round on Thursday, April 30 at 5 p.m. CT. Denver clinched the BIG EAST regular season title and the No. 1 seed with an 11-5 victory over Georgetown.

Marquette is one of four squads to qualify for the championship, joined by Denver, Georgetown and UConn. The Golden Eagles finished league play tied for third with the Huskies, as UConn claimed the No. 3 seed following a 12-10 win over Marquette in the regular-season finale.

The BIG EAST Women’s Lacrosse Championship will be held at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium in Denver, Colorado. Marquette will open tournament play against Denver on Thursday, April 30 at 5 p.m. CT, with the game streaming live on ESPN+.

The second semifinal will feature No. 2 seed Georgetown and No. 3 seed UConn at 8 p.m. CT, also on ESPN+. The semifinal winners will advance to the BIG EAST Championship final on Saturday, May 2 at 2 p.m. CT, with the winner earning the league’s automatic berth to the 2026 NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship.
