Gov. Evers Seeks Applicants for Court of Appeals District Iv

MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers announced today that he is seeking applicants for the Court of Appeals – District IV. The appointments will fill vacancies being created by Judge Chris Taylor’s election to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as well as Judge Brian W. Blanchards retirement, effective Nov. 8, 2026. The new judges will complete terms ending July 31, 2027, and July 31, 2028, respectively.

District IV consists of Adams, Clark, Columbia, Crawford, Dane, Dodge, Grant, Green, Iowa, Jackson, Jefferson, Juneau, La Crosse, Lafayette, Marquette, Monroe, Portage, Richland, Rock, Sauk, Vernon, Waupaca, Waushara, and Wood Counties.

To apply, please email a completed application form and supporting materials to GOVJudicialAppointments@wisconsin.gov. Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Fri., May 29, 2026. The application can be found on the “Apply to Serve” page on Gov. Evers’ website at: www.evers.wi.gov.

Applications for the Court of Appeals – District IV need not specify the specific vacancy for which they are applying; applicants will be considered for both vacancies.
