Digital Bridge Marks Earth Month With Workplace E-Waste Drives Across Wisconsin
MILWAUKEE – April 20, 2026 – Digital Bridge, a nonprofit dedicated to reducing electronic waste and expanding access to technology, is teaming up with a number of its partners across Wisconsin to host a series of workplace e-waste drives throughout April in recognition of Earth Day.
The initiative builds on Digital Bridge’s ongoing relationships with organizations, including Potawatomi Casino Hotel, Hydrite, and Astronautics Corporation of America, which regularly rely on Digital Bridge for secure and responsible e-waste removal.
Throughout April, employees at Potawatomi Casino Hotel are participating in a workplace e-waste drive, donating retired laptops, desktops, tablets, and other devices for secure recycling and refurbishment.
Digital Bridge will also host an employee drive with Astronautics Corporation of America on April 20 at the company’s Oak Creek headquarters.
The effort continues on Earth Day, April 22, when Digital Bridge will be on site at Hydrite to collect unwanted electronics as part of another employee drive.
“At Hydrite, sustainability includes responsibly managing technology throughout its lifecycle,” said Dave Schilz, IT End User Support Manager, who oversees the Digital Bridge program at Hydrite. “Participating in an employee e‑waste drive is a straightforward way for our team to support environmental responsibility and secure disposal practices.”
All donated devices are securely processed and either responsibly recycled or refurbished and redistributed to individuals and organizations in need.
“Earth Day reminds us that responsible technology stewardship is a shared responsibility,” said Michael Regione, vice president of sales and marketing at Digital Bridge. “We are grateful for partners like Potawatomi Casino Hotel, Hydrite, and Astronautics that trust us as their ongoing e-waste service provider. Their support helps us keep technology out of landfills and put refurbished devices into the hands of people who need them.”
Workplace e-waste drives are one way Digital Bridge helps organizations address both environmental impact and digital access. Donated devices are diverted from landfills and repurposed to support schools, nonprofits, and families.
Through employee e-waste drives alone, Digital Bridge and its partners collected approximately 4,000-5,000 pounds of electronics in 2025. While these events provide a convenient way for employees to participate, they represent just one small part of Digital Bridge’s broader work providing free, secure IT asset disposition services to organizations nationwide. Since its inception, Digital Bridge has diverted more than 20 million pounds of e-waste from landfills and refurbished more than 35,000 devices for reuse.
Digital Bridge encourages other organizations interested in hosting an employee e-waste drive to get in touch to learn more.
