Milwaukee Police and FBI Drug Bust Turns Chaotic: Suspect in Critical Condition, Officers Exposed to Unknown Substance
MILWAUKEE, WI— On Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at approximately 1:31 p.m., Milwaukee Police Department officers conducting a joint operation with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) were patrolling the area of N. 91st Street and W. Silver Spring Drive based upon information related to drug dealing. MPD officers observed a vehicle identified in that investigation and followed the vehicle to N. 106th Street and W. Silver Spring Drive. The driver, a suspect in that drug investigation, fled the vehicle on foot and ran into a yard in this area. Officers pursued the suspect on foot. Officers located the suspect in a narrow fenced in area adjacent to a garage. The suspect resisted arrest and failed to comply to multiple commands from officers. During this incident, officers used a dog to assist in the arrest. We are aware the dog may have bitten the suspect during arrest, but need more information to confirm. At a point before or while attempting arrest, it is believed that the suspect ingested illegal drugs causing him to lose consciousness during the arrest. When officers became aware that the suspect was unconscious, life saving measures were administered, including the use of Narcan. The suspect, a 31-year-old male, was transported to a local hospital and is in critical condition.
In addition, during the incident, two MPD supervisors and an FBI agent were exposed to the unknown substance and were transported to a local hospital for evaluation and released. The officers involved in this incident are a 34-year-old male with over seven years of service, a 30-year-old male with over seven years of service, a 27-year-old male with over nine years of service, and a 35-year-old male with over nine years of service. They will be placed on administrative duty as is routine in an officer involved incident.
The Milwaukee Area Investigative Team will be investigating this incident out of an abundance of caution. The Greenfield Police Department is the lead investigating agency. This is a fluid and ongoing investigation. Video related to this incident will be released in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure 575.
