Congresswoman Gwen Moore Votes in Support of War Powers Resolution

“The Trump administration has again launched the U.S. into a reckless war without congressional authorization, and it’s only intensifying with talks of sending in U.S. ground troops. In speaking to Congress and the American people, the Administration has failed to offer any clear end goals or sound rationale.

This is a war of choice that is endangering service members and U.S. citizens in the region, and tragically, taken lives. I mourn for the six U.S. service members who have been killed so far, and my heart goes out to those service members who are injured. Congress must act now to prevent the war from escalating further. While Trump disregards Congress and Republicans acquiesce their power to the President, I supported this War Powers Resolution to reassert our constitutional authority and end this war.”
